"The most useful thing a master does for his disciples is to draw their attention to their imperfections, for it is these imperfections that are the cause of their difficulties and suffering. All the while you do not know your weak points, you
will be under attack and at the mercy of your enemies. To be able to defend yourself you must learn to recognize the enemy that’s hidden there behind a fault, a bad habit or a wrong idea about things. There is nothing worse than not knowing where your difficulties, suffering and misfortune come from, for you’ll exhaust yourself firing cartridges into thin air. One day, you’ll have no
ammunition left, but your enemy will still be undefeated. So, at least try to understand that your Master is your best ally: not only does he teach you where your enemy is and how it manifests but he also gives you the means to react, and these means will enable you, sooner or later, to triumph."

Word of the Master

Words of the Master
"Those who follow Karate-Do will develop courage and fortitude. These qualities do not have to do with strong actions or with the development of strong techniques as such. Emphasis is placed on development of the mind rather than techniques. In time of grave public crisis, one must have the courage, if required for the sake of justice, to face a million and one opponents. For the Karate-Do student, the most shameful trait is indecisiveness."
Gichin Funakoshi

Thought of the day

"The journey we set out on, a very long time ago, will not end with our present life. This life is only one stage on the path along which all beings have had to travel since they left the bosom of the Eternal. And how many different regions they will
have to visit before returning one day to the Source! We must never forget we are only travellers on earth. But even amongst spiritualists, very few are capable of keeping constantly in mind the idea that they are travellers and must therefore never stop anywhere to put down roots. The road to be travelled is long, very long; if you are to continue in the right direction, you must continually observe, study and draw conclusions. And if you don’t want to lose heart, you must keep your eyes fixed on the goal ahead."

Thought of the day

"Wisdom enlightens us; it allows us to distinguish between good
and evil and so take the necessary steps to repel evil. But even
our friends will not remain with us for long if we only ever call
upon wisdom. Of course, wisdom attracts, because it shines and
can be seen from far away, but it is cold, and people don’t much
like staying next to a cold light. That is why sages are often
solitary beings, whereas those who are less wise but full of
warmth are surrounded by friends. So what should we do? Is it
better to neglect wisdom in order to avoid being alone? No, of
course not, for those who allow themselves to be guided only by
love risk being at the beck and call of others and end up being
devoured.
Love binds and wisdom unbinds. That is why we must learn to
harmonize the two currents within ourselves: to know when it is
better to manifest love and when wisdom."

"I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good characters, and my enemies for their intellects. A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies".

Thought of the day

"Throughout the course of history, humans have become more and
more successful at exploiting nature. Of course, nature is
patient, but, when it feels that humans persist in upsetting the
order that governs it, it retaliates, and this retaliation
affects them not only in their immediate environment but also
within themselves. They believe they are free to abuse nature in
all manner of ways, with no fear of consequences. They cannot
foresee that the very disorders they are creating in nature they
are also creating in their own physical and psychic organism. And
if they are incapable of getting on with each other, this is also
because they don’t respect the order that the Creator has
established in nature and in their own being.
Those who have learnt to be in harmony with the order and will
of the Creator do not exploit nature, nor do they exploit
humans. They do not impose their will on others, and they do not
attempt to win them over for their own personal advantage."

Thought of the day

"When I’m travelling and I arrive in a new town and see great
crowds of people in the streets, I think of how these men and
women each have their own life, their own history, their
problems to resolve, their suffering and their loves, and of how
there is a Being that sustains them all because it lives within
them. If you also tried to have this thought from time to time,
you would broaden your field of awareness; you would discover
new regions where you would come into contact with higher
entities.
Instead of troubling yourself with all sorts of useless or
futile concerns, which do nothing but weaken you, concentrate on
the universal Spirit, on the heavenly Father who created us, who
carries and sustains us and lives in all his creatures. In this
way, you will escape the burden of everyday existence, and you
will feel the connection between your earthly self and your
heavenly self begin to be restored."

Thought of the day

"Humans do not really see the riches of the world around them. Why
not? Because they have a materialistic, and therefore
superficial, view of it: they only look at how they can make use
of scientific discoveries for their own satisfaction. And for
precisely the same reasons, they are unaware of how they could
make the most of their own body.
Our lungs, heart, ears, eyes, hands, liver, feet and so on are
great riches, which most people do not know how to use. Driven
by forces they are unable to control and which they are not even
conscious of, they amble aimlessly here and there, swinging their
arms and legs, listening to this, looking at that, chewing away
at whatever they’ve put in their mouth. Materialistic philosophy
has obscured their vision to such an extent they no longer have
any notion of what true life is. It’s time they understood how
to make use of the resources of nature and of their own body in
order to grow in spiritual stature."

Thought of the day

"You can only interpret your present life correctly if you take a look at the past, for each event is the consequence of a previous event. You already know this, but you must also become aware of the opportunity you have to work on the present, which is the result of your past, so that all your good wishes and plans may be realized in the future. In order to understand the meaning of a human life well, yours or anyone else’s, you must see it as the consequence of a distant past but also, and more importantly, as the starting point for a new existence. Those who study an individual human life, without considering that it merely represents one link in a long chain, will inevitably make erroneous judgements. "

Leadership

"Leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that 's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal."

-Vince Lombardi

Thought Of The Day

Those who abandon the Lord, who cut all links with him, allow the source of love within them to run dry. Then one day, faced with the successive failures of their emotional life, they ask themselves how it was they came to love all those men or women so much. At first they found them irresistible, and then over time they came to find them completely ordinary or even unbearable. Quite simply, the unique Being that inhabited a certain man or woman was no longer there for them. It was not the man or woman they loved but the Being who looked at them through his or her eyes, and they didn’t know how to keep this Being with them. They behaved in a negligent, careless, selfish manner, and the Being who lived in this man or woman went away. So, do not seek out men and women for themselves but in order to find in them the unique Being who, through them, will visit you .

Thought Of The Day

Whatever our external conditions, we can always feel free in our inner world, the world of thought. But when we wish to express ourselves on the physical plane, we are dependent on conditions and are therefore limited. We must not be distressed if we do not obtain the results we hope for; we know that inside we have everything we need to live a life that is rich, beautiful and vast, a life that is useful to all creatures. Our thoughts and feelings reach far into space and allow us to come into contact with the entire universe, whereas our actions affect only a few people. Even the most powerful being is limited in the realm of action.

But if we improve our inner world, if we strengthen it with love and faith, we will also have more and more influence over the external world.
